Writer’s Lodge Holiday Cottage is part of a complex of buildings in the curtilage of a sixteenth-century Grade-Two listed building in Bishop’s Castle in South Shropshire. The complex comprises our house, a small medieval barn, some outbuildings and the cottage itself, which is available separately as a holiday let. It sleeps up to three people comfortably, having been recently converted to a modern standard and furnished with antiques, local art, curious items from around the world, and far too many books by Bob Fowke. You can be about as peaceful there as anywhere in England – while still awake.
